Hello lunnas! Nice photographs. I have been doing photography for some years, but have never dared to take on commissions for weddings because of the enormous potential liability. But I do get invited to a lot of weddings where I will usually take a few dozen photos as a wedding present. You have a nice knack for capturing the emotions of the wedding. Your subjects obviously feel comfortable with you. One thing I would work on is *exposure*; I think you need an independent flash to fill out shadows without creating further shadows. If you are working together with hubby, maybe you can shoot and he can be your assistant, holding an independent light source (which will give nice highlights to hair and eyes). A couple of the shots are underexposed or not clearly focussed; that is usually because you don't have enough light and this forces your camera down to a very long exposure and a very wide aperture (5.6 or even bigger), which are unforgiving. If you had a bit more light to work, with you could have shot at 1/60 - 1/120, and you wouldn't have to open the aperture up too big, maybe 5.6 - 8.00. Those are the settings I use when I am having to shoot something live, and quickly. Here's a tip: Make sure you are generous with prints; in my friend Fred's house, the wedding pictures they display are mine, rather than the ones taken by the photographer they hired. What you want to do is take many photographs at a weddings where they already have a professional photographer, and make sure your photographs look better. If you take the time and trouble to get nice shots of the bouquet, flower arrangements, and the cake, the florist and the caterer could become a valuable source of business referrals in future. I don't do weddings but my friend I, who is a florist, will telephone me and tell me that her customers looked at her sample "book" and asked who the photographer was! That is a sweet feeling... good luck and all the best for your wedding photography!

P/s: Lunnas, I often have to contort myself in crazy ways -- or choose unusual angles -- to make sure that I am not reflected in windows, shiny cars, or even peoples' spectacles! :P AP

I take photographs as a hobby, but mostly of plants, so I don't have any experience with wedding pictures. I like your pictures :) As AndrewPenney said, sometimes the focus is not 100% correct, but I love the motives you chose. Just one thing I noticed: In the first picture, one person's not looking towards the camera. It's a pity, because it's a nice picture otherwise, so maybe you could take a second picture of the same scene the next time? BTW: You and your family look gorgeous in the photos! And your daughter's boyfriend looks kind as well :)

:) 800 pics! That is a lot. When you start to go pro (or semi-pro), you will want to try and take maybe a quarter of that, because editing 800 shots will take too much of your time. With time, you will become more "sure" about the technical side, and you will be able to do away with "back-up" shots. You mustn't be shy about "arranging" people. Again, I wish you all the best for your dreams! AP
